For many men and women coaching can be a way of simply having a listening ear without involving family or friends, perhpas a way of seeking a new perspective on a situation or views. Sharing such intimate thoughts and feelings can feel less intrusive with someone you're not connected to. A kind of safety barrier as you know whatever you say is not going to effect a friendship or family relationship.
Coaching can also be healing if you've been through a painful divorce where you feel your self confidence has taken a knock, or you've been catapulted into a different life overnight, leaving you feeling emotionally drained. And if you've been widowed after a long and happy marriage you may feel, life no longer has the purpose it once did.This is a stage that can lead men or women to try and move forward at a pace where their emotions are still raw and adjusting.
Of course neither of those scenarios may be your situation, you may still be single after dedicating your life to a successful career, or like a lot of men and women, you select or attract the wrong partners, or you self-sabotage relationships by avoidance or anxiety, which can often stem from childhood or a traumatic relationship that was painful where that pain again has become ingrained in your protection mechanisms. These are some of the reasons why men and women choose coaching.
